About Us

The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce was established in 1877 as one of the first groups of its kind in the state. It was formally incorporated in 1888 by Julius A. Gray who was then President of the Yadkin/Cape Fear and the NC Railroad Companies and became the first President of the Greensboro Chamber. Over its history, the Chamber has worked to develop greater opportunities for the business community while cultivating a more vibrant quality of life. Many initiatives got their start with Chamber support like Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, HealthServe Community Health Clinic and the Teacher Supply Warehouse.

Today, the Greensboro Chamber is a member of the Greensboro Partnership, united with the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance and Action Greensboro to form a more powerful voice for business growth and advocacy, entrepreneurial development, urban livability, and economic development. After over 130 years, the Chamber is still dedicated to building relationships, building business, and building success for companies in the Greensboro area. The programs offered by the Chamber include educational workshops, leadership programs for every age, monthly networking events for members, opportunities for women executives to connect, and a wealth of other opportunities that knit the business community together.

You will find relevant information about our programs and services on this site as well as an easy connection to businesses of all types – contractors, florists, manufacturers, realtors, restaurants, attorneys, and many more. We are dedicated to building the success of our members and making Greensboro a better place to live and work.
